G&G Members Win State Honors

GAITHERSBURG, Maryland, March 10, 2009 – At an award ceremony on February 28 in Waldorf, members of the Gaithersburg/Germantown Junior Chamber (G&G Jaycees) were honored by their parent organization, the Maryland Jaycees.

Jason Silverberg of the Kentlands was named as Chapter Management Vice President of the Month for October 2008.

Katie Skinker of Germantown was was named as the 2009 "Rookie of the Year."

Sarah Knetzer of Rockville received the 2009 "Unsung Hero" award.

Blair Learn of Germantown was named as 2009 Associate Member of the Year.

Established in the 1950s, the Gaithersburg/Germantown Jaycees are the Montgomery County chapter of the Maryland Jaycees, the United States Junior Chamber, and Junior Chamber International. Offering a unique combination of Leadership Training through Community Service, the Jaycees organization gives young people the opportunity to develop skills they can use elsewhere in life.
